Explore the science behind the development of modern painting through close examination of impressionist painting. Use the lesson plans to make connections between art and science, examine works of art as an entry point into a study of the Industrial Revolution in Europe. This curriculum theme features works of art from the permanent collection of the North Carolina Museum of Art, as well as works from the Brooklyn Museum featured in the temporary exhibition Landscapes from the Age of Impressionism (October 2007-January 2008).
