THE MUSEUM PARK TRAILS

The Museum Park Trails are open to the public during daylight hours for bicycle and pedestrian use only (no motorized vehicles or skateboards). Dogs must be kept on a leash. Access to the trail is by the lower level parking lot or the sidewalk near the Joseph M. Bryan, Jr., Theater in the Museum Park.

The House Creek Pedestrian Bridge and Greenway

On April 16, 2005, the North Carolina Museum of Art celebrated the opening of the House Creek Pedestrian Bridge, which links the Museum Park to the Capital Area Greenway System.

The 660-foot pedestrian bridge, which spans I-440, is the longest pedestrian bridge in North Carolina. Its design was inspired by the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Sydney, Australia. The bridge features triple steel arches, and will feature dramatic lighting. The bridge is 660 feet long and 55 feet high at its highest point.

The Greenway System connects the Museum, North Carolina State University, Meredith College, and Umstead State Park.
